I see myself as a simple person lost in the chaotic maze of life. I've done good and wrong along the way and sometimes I do look back and sigh when I realize I could have done better, taken better judgments or simply chosen more carefully my decisions. Though I believe in destiny and that there are no coincidences, I don't believe in God, at least in a biblical form. I believe the universe, in it's infinite magnificence, is the ultimate designer of all there was and is to be. Thus, intelligent life had to span as a consequence of the universe sole purpose of attaining self-awareness. Eternity is but a flash and our lives scarce glimpses at it's wonderful complexity. I try everyday not to waste any second of it but remind myself of my own frailty, setting aside any vanity that might tempt me. I wish I had more but am thankful for what I have and for all I've lived so far. My son is my treasure and he's coming has changed me deeply. I know now that in times of darkness he will always be my beacon, the light I need to survive.

When he was still president he shook my hand when he visited the Faculty of Science and Technology in my University years.

- Neil Gaiman (very famous north american writer) [link]
Some years ago he came to Lisbon for a signing session on the launch of one of his books and I talked with him.

- Manuel Luís Goucha (famous portuguesese TV show host) [link]
More than a decade ago I met him when I was on a TV show contest in 1995 called "Efe-Erre-A" to sing together with a musical group from my faculty.

- Catarina Furtado (famous portuguesese TV show host and Godwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund) [link]
When I attended my driving lessons, she was on my class. At that time she was still MTV host on SIC channel.

- Sofia Fava (ex-wife of the actual prime minister of Portugal, José Sócrates) [link]
I knew her from the times she was still in the University - we were involved in activities within the Students Association of our faculty. Later she married José Socrates when he was still just a member of the portuguese parliament. At the wedding of a common friend I met her again and also met the two children of José and Sofia (2 boys). At that time they were still married.

- Cláudia Galhós (young portuguese writer, author of "O Tempo das Cerejas", a revolutionary romantic novel taking place at Second Life's metaverse [link 1] [link 2]
Many years ago we were friends. I met her thru her sister, Alexandra, who was at my class in my Faculty years. I remember her as a very joyful girl, wide smile and very keen and active. Recently, I was very pleased to find her presence on the web and to learn that she's already quite well known in the portuguese cultural circles.

- Ronan Harris (founder/singer of the band VNV Nation) [link]
I met him and we talked for some time after the concert the band gave in Porto in September of 2005. I asked him about the lyrics of one of the songs (Beloved) and surprisingly he gave me quite an extent answer.

- Vasi Vallis (founder/singer of the band Reaper and member of the band Frozen Plasma, ex-member of the band NamNamBulu) [link]
I dinned beside him the last time he was in Lisbon. We talked a bit before the concert he gave aftwards.

- Rui Unas (portuguesese TV show host / comediant) [link]
I was introduced by a common friend and we shook hands once after a movie premiere but that's about it.

- Raquel Cruz (beautiful wife of Carlos Cruz, former portuguese TV show host) [link]
- Nuria Madruga (young portuguese actress) [link 1] [link 2]
Each of them passed by me years ago in the hall of a known mall in Lisbon and looked directly into my eyes. It felt like they knew me! Odd sensation...
